At Topeka First UMC
"Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity."
Welcome to Youth Discipleship!
Youth Discipleship at Topeka First UMC is all about coming together, despite our different backgrounds and realities, to share in the love that God has for each of us. Our Youth Group offers an open and accepting place where we enjoy each other's company, share ideas, laugh, learn, and grow. As part of a church family where God's grace, peace, mercy, and love is available to all we find ways to connect, grow, and serve for the good of the city.
"Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path."
Sunday Mornings for Youth
Youth meet for Sunday School each Sunday morning at 9:30. Our caring youth mentors lead discussions on relevant topics and talk about what the Bible has to say to people today. Through engaging activities and lots of laughs, youth explore their faith in a safe setting and get to ask important questions, all the while building strong friendships with their peers. During the school year, Youth meet in the Youth Room on the Lower Level of the church. During the summer, all youth meet together in the Youth Room (Rm 101 and 102) of the Church.
Director of Youth Discipleship
I have a passion for young people; a deep desire to help youth discover their worth, identity, and faith. Rooted in relationship, we strive to know, experience, and live out Christ's Love.
Elevate (Youth Group)
Middle School and High School Youth are invited to be part of Elevate - a time to connect, learn, and grow with peers; pushing each other to the next level as Disciples of Jesus Christ.
This experience is new for everyone, and needs volunteers to be Small Group Leaders for youth at the High School and Middle School level. Help be the difference for our youth and volunteer today.
We will begin our time together each Wednesday at 7:00 pm; ending by 8:15 pm.
Youth In Mission
Our youth understand the importance of serving the “least of these.” Through years of serving on mission trips and participating with service projects through our church, youth realize that serving and giving are lifelong goals to help them in their faith journey. Our youth have come to understand that when you’re brought out of your comfort zone, you have room for spiritual growth in your life. Youth serve because they can, they want to, and it makes them better disciples for Christ.
