Special Wednesday Evening Program
We are very excited to let you know that Erin Corbin will be our Wednesday Evening Program presenter this week! Erin will be talking about her Kiah's experience as a school facility dog. Kiah, a Labrador Retriever, is a professionally trained dog. You'll get to meet Kiah and learn about her special training and the KSDS Assistance Dogs program. KSDS is based in Washington, Kansas and they are a member of the Assistance Dogs International Breeding Cooperative (ABC/IBC). With more than 650 assistance dog teams placed in 37 states, KSDS has been empowering independence, inclusion, and connection for 35 years—and counting. Every step of our process is rooted in compassion, professionalism, and a deep belief in the power of the human-canine bond. Join us at 6:00 pm for a spaghetti dinner and at 6:30 pm to learn about Kiah & her special training.
Also, Youth Group & Kids Ministry activities begin at 6:30 pm. This Wednesday, April 29, will be the last normally scheduled Wednesday evening activity for adults & kids. Youth will close their school year next Wednesday with a Messy Games night! We'll start Wednesday evening activities again once school starts in the fall. |

The Waypoints Book StudyUpdated Location & Time A book study on loving life again and your legacy.
Last week we let you know that about a new book study beginning on May 4. The time of the book study and the location of the book study has changed. The study will meet on Mondays beginning May 4. Dates include May 4, 11, 18 and June 1, 8, & 15 at Topeka First UMC from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm. Erin Corbin will be leading the book study covering "The Waypoints -- From 400 Farewells & 3,000 Miles" by Diane "Grace" Gansauer. The book cost is $16 and will be available at church. You are encouraged to sign up and then pick up a copy of the book at church. Please read the first 31 pages of the book before the first meeting. Author Diane "Grace" Gansauer writes "This is not a book about grief. Nor is it a hiking journal. Instead, it's about 'walking home' to your best self. It's about the stories we are remembered by and the legacy we leave. And it's about falling in love with life again--well past what American culture considers to be our prime years." We are excited for you to join Erin as you study the book together! Please sign up using the link below.
