This semester, Topeka First UMC kids are "Under Construction...God at Work!"

Construction sites are exciting places, filled with interesting, heavy machinery and abuzz with noise and activity. When we accept Jesus, God begins a good work in us. We become the construction site where God is building something amazing!

To uderstand the story of the Tower of Babel, we built differnt types of towers.

Here we built marshmallow toothpick towers--without a permit!

We tried using magnetic tiles to build towers...

But, we really liked using marshmallows & toothpicks to try to build a tower.

God Given Super Hero Powers

During the spring/summer of 2025, the Kids at Topeka First, learned about being Super Heros! We are training hard, using our Superpowers that God gives us, to learn Bible Verses. Each week, we have been learning a different verse. Our super powers that God has given us are – Prayer, Peace, Joy, Faith, Life, Trust, Invisibility, Replication, and Invincibility. Each week, we used different skills to learn new Bible Verses.

Using their superfast skills, to say all of our Bible Verses before the spinner stops.

image

With super powers like Batman, they aimed to hit scripture on the wall & then said the Bible verse closest to where it landed.

image

Using their time travel powers, they rolled a marble through a Bible verse that is in a maze.

image

With superspeed, they lined up all the words in a Bible verse in order.

image

Using their superpower, agility, they took aim and landed on parts of the scripture, in order of the verse.

With superhuman strength, they built their Bible Verse in structures, using straw and paper. And then they worked on their speed putting their Bible Verse together.
