Greetings Topeka First UMC,

I hope that you are having a great week!

My family and I have been on vacation for the last 2 weeks. We had a great time on the beach in Fort Morgan, Alabama! I'm so thankful for the staff and all that helped cover worship the past two weeks. 

This Sunday, we will have only the 10:45 service. The theme on Sunday is "Forgiving Me." The forgiveness of God is about confession. Forgiving others is about moving through hardship and finding a place of forgiveness. This Sunday we will look at forgiving ourselves. Forgiving ourselves is crucial to overcome shame and guilt. On Sunday, we will look at the scriptures, and look at how we can free ourselves from constant self criticism. As this is the first Sunday of the month, we will also celebrate Holy Communion together. 

VBS starts next Monday, July 7 at 5:45 pm! Be sure to see De or Shawna on Sunday if you signed up to donate items or to volunteer and have questions. Be sure all your friends & family with kids age 4 - 5th grade have signed up! You can direct them to the website or send them this link.

The July mission collection is school supplies for Topeka North Outreach. Supp

During last week's special service we celebrated freedom in Christ and the freedom of our country. We would  like to recoginize and thank the following who helped make that service so special: guest preacher, Rev. Tony Hazen, liturgist Jacob Mogle, the amazing choir, soloist Marty Edwards, musicians, and Doug Bowen who provided the festive cookies!
