In Memory of Jim Zinn

Memorial Service: Wednesday, August 13, 1 pm, Klasse Chapel

James Marvin Zinn, 90, of Topeka died on Sunday, August 3rd. He was born on July 11, 1935 in Topeka, Kansas late son of Maynard Day and Sarah Seubert Zinn. Jim lived his entire life in the Topeka community.

Mr. Zinn was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Topeka for more than 70 years. For over 25 years he was the Superintendent of the grain elevator at Brickyard Road and NW 17th Street. He belonged to the Grain Elevator And Processing Society (GEAPS) organization and held the office of President in the Kansas City Chapter.

Mr. Zinn graduated from Kansas State University in January 1958 and was a loyal fan of their sports programs.

In June 1961 Jim married Marilyn J Hafer of Mayetta, Kansas. He is survived by his brother Maynard D. Zinn, son, J. Benjamin Zinn, daughters Heidi S. (Zinn) Koppenhaver, and Lara J. (Zinn) Williams, grandchildren, Jasmine, Kira, Xianne, and Gaige Williams, and Kayla Koppenhaver, and three great grandchildren, Jaxon, Joanna, and Juniper Christensen.

Memorial services will be held for Mr. Zinn at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 in Klasse Chapel at First United Methodist Church, 600 SW Topeka Blvd, Topeka Ks. 66603. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church.
