Greetings Topeka First UMC,

Spring has arrived! As the temperatures warm and God's creation comes back to life, I hope that the colors of the new season will remind you that Easter, resurrection, and new life are coming soon!

Tomorrow is the 13th annual Spring Clean Up.  Everyone is encouraged to come up to the church between 8 am & Noon to spruce up the grounds so don't forget to bring your yard tools.  They'll be coffee & donuts provided.

There is interest in starting a Geneaology Group!  Day of the week & time have not been decided. Please let the office know if you are interested or see Doris Wills on Sunday.

The directories are here! If you had your photo taken, your complimentary Church Directory will be available in the Celebration Room this Sunday morning.  The pictures have been uploaded into Elvanto are you should see them in the member directory in your Elvanto app also.  If you didn't get your picture taken, you can still submit it to Shawna and she'll upload it for you.  If it's easier, see Angela Langley on April 2 (Palm Sunday) and she'll take a new picture for you!  Remember, you can always upload your own picture from the edit profile option in the Elvanto app.

The annual Easter Egg Hunt is Saturday, April 1.  Volunteers are needed.  Please sign up at the table in the Celebration Room this Sunday.

Coming up Sunday, we are preparing ourselves for Easter as we continue our Lenten journey together. This Sunday will shift our focus to "Bread." Throughout the scriptures, bread has served as a symbol of God's presence as well as the nourishment that we need for the journey. On Sunday, we will look at bread throughout the scriptures, and look at the importance of bread for each of us in our spiritual journeys. John Wesley called bread (and communion) "the grand channel" through which we receive God's grace. I hope that you will make plans to join us on Sunday as we grow closer and closer to Easter Sunday!

Blessings,

Pastor Brad
