Greetings Topeka First UMC,

I hope that you've had a great week and that you've had a chance to enjoy the beautiful weather!

Last Sunday afternoon was so special! Thank you to everyone who made the Tempero-Sandall 100-year organ event such a success. Thanks goes especially to Donna Osborne who came up with the idea for this event and led us to make it happen! If you were unable to attend, you can watch the event here.

Another musical event takes place this Sunday. The annual “Music…Just What the Doctor Ordered!” fundraiser concert will take place in our Sanctuary at 3 p.m.  Come and enjoy performances by many doctor musicians from the Topeka area, including our own….(Grace Morrison) Proceeds benefit the Marian Clinic and the HealthAccess Program. There is no cost for tickets but there will be a freewill donation taken at the concert.

On Sunday, we will be wrapping up our sermon series, "Is that in the Bible?" After discussing "God Has a Path" and "Love the Whole Person," this week we turn our attention to the phrase, "God helps those who help themselves." This quote just seems to make sense, right? But is it in the Bible? I hope you will join us Sunday as we look at this statement in light of the biblical text and worship together! Excitingly, our 10:45 service will involve a baptism!

Have a wonderful start to your weekend!

Blessings,

Pastor Brad
