Greetings Topeka First UMC, I hope that you are having a great week!
As many of you know, last week our live stream during the 10:45 am service was not working. We are working with our provider, Box Cast, to resolve the issue. Apparently there was a black out for Box Cast last Sunday. We believe the live stream should work as usual this upcoming Sunday.
Our church “Block Party” is coming up on Sunday August 30, directly after the 10:45 am service. We hope that you are making plans to stay for lunch, music, the cake walk, and lots of other activities. Please be sure to invite friends and family to invite you at this community event. Thank you to everyone who has signed up to volunteer or to bring items. We still have some volunteer spots open and we are in need of some items. Namely, we could still use some more cakes for the cake walk.
Coming up this Sunday, we are continuing our sermon series, “Good News In Bad Times.” This week we will look at finding good news in the bigger picture. Many times, it is easy to only see the negative day in and day out. God can be found in the bigger picture, the bigger narrative that is life. I hope to see you Sunday at 8:30 am, 9:45 am, or 10:45 am, as we find good in the bigger picture!
