Mid-Week Email, Sept. 1, 2026

Greetings Topeka First UMC,

I wanted to send a quick midweek email!

First, thank you so much to everyone who make the 4th annual Block Party a success! On Sunday morning when we arrived there were only 8 cakes. By the end of the morning, there had been 80 cakes donated which were then given out at the cake walk! Over 110 neighbors from the community came to our church for the event plus all of our church family who attended! We cooked and handed out 260 hamburgers and 100 hot dogs, along with chips and sides!

The Block Party was a terrific event because of all of your prayers, donations, and service!

Second, our mission for the month of September is filling volunteer spots at Door Step. Our church is "in charge" of volunteer spots in September one Monday and each Thursday. I'm excited to send this daytime volunteer opportunity to you! Click the link above to sign up. This week in particular, there is a need for Thursday morning!!

Finally, as we begin September, Iit's time to get back in the swing of things. Each family is encouraged to click this link and pick a Sunday morning and welcome people by handing them a bulletin as they walk into service or to serve Communion (this Sunday!).
