Greetings Topeka First UMC,

Our "Be the Bridge" capital campaign is going great! We are just over a week away from Celebration Sunday. Coming up this Sunday, we will give an update on where we are. Please continue to be in prayer! 

Happy Mother's Day this weekend to all of the moms! Our theme Sunday is "He is Risen... Now What?" We will read another resurrection story that will lead us into a deeper understanding of the Kingdom of God and who God calls us to be. 

In two weeks, we will host the Mobile Access Partnership MAP in our parking lot on Tuesday, May 20 and Thursday, May 22. This is the 5 year anniversary of this program! There will be media coverage that day including a press conference at 10:30 am. Besides letting the MAP program use our parking lot, Topeka First also have volunteers who sit in the front vestibule and open the doors for individials to come in to use the restroom and the volunteers also monitor the restroom area. We have not filled most of the volunteer spots for either the 20th or the 22nd. If you are available to be a volunteer on the 20th or 22nd, please sign up using this link.

Our May Mission collection will benefit the Topeka Rescue Mission. We are collecting clean sleeping bags & blankets. The items do not need to be new. If you prefer, you can write a check with "TRM" in the memo. Blankets can be placed on the table in the Celebration Room.

The Neighbor Helping Neighbor Walk/5K Fun is a major fund raiser for our mission partner Doorstep. This year it is their 60th anniversary Kick-Off Event to be held at Lake Shawnee Saturday, June 7, 2025. Registration begins at 8:00 AM and the walk/5k start begins at 9:00 AM.
