Topeka First UMC News, Info., & Events, Dec. 19, 2025

Greetings Topeka First UMC,

I hope that you are having a great week as we approach Christmas next week!

This Sunday is the last Sunday of Advent, and we wrap up our sermon series, "The Gospel According to Elf." Over the last few weeks we have discussed a child-like faith, the important of thinking of others and the presence we bring to the world. This Sunday, just a few days before Christmas, our theme is "I Can't Wait." Even though Christmas is coming soon we have to wait to open presents, and see our loved ones. However, the season of Advent is about expectation, and it begs the question what can't wait? I hope you will join us Sunday for worship. At the 10:45 service this week, we have brass playing with the choir. They will begin playing at 10:30 am.

Finally, as we approach the end of the year and start preparing for the new year, there are a number of opportunities to serve your church. I would invite you to sign up to greet or serve communion, or be liturgist (January 11 - March 29 dates are open).

See you Sunday,
Pastor Brad
