Topeka First UMC Member, Daisy Douthett, 101, passed away October 18, 2025 in Wichita, KS.

Daisy Gertrude (Mott) Douthett, 101, of Topeka, Ks., died 10/18/25. She was born July 22, 1924, near Manter, Ks. She was the 5th child of 8 born to Albert and Della Mott. During the dust storm of 1935 they moved to Barber County.

She graduated from Medicine Lodge High School. Her junior and senior years she maintained an apartment in town for herself and 3 younger sisters. At age 21 she married her high school sweetheart William B. Douthett from Isabel. They lived in Wichita during Bills college days, then to Augusta, Ks. Four children were born to this union.

In 1978 Daisy & Bill moved to Cherry Hill, NJ. After Bill’s retirement they returned to Kansas where they have lived in Topeka since Nov. of 1984.

Daisy was preceded in death by Bill, her husband of 76 years, daughter Dana – 1954-1994, son Stuart 1956-2016, two brothers and five sisters. She is survived by Roger & Beverly Douthett of Wichita, Joan Douthett of Jacksonville, FL. and daughter-in-law Julie Douthett of Topeka. Grandchildren Tiffany and husband Donovan McGlory, Krista Nichole Douthett, Erin and husband David Clark, and Mitchell and Lottie Douthett. Six great grandchildren, Deven, Trevor, Cameron, Celeah, Calvin and William.
