Greetings Topeka First UMC,

I hope that you are having a great week! 

This week is Annual Conference in Salina. As part of Annual Conference there are a number of meetings, votes, and other business. For us pastors, it's a almost a kind of family reunion. I always enjoy catching up with friends and colleagues. Of course, the highlight of Annual Conference this year is the Ordination of Grace Woods! The Ordination service is Saturday morning at 11:00 am. You are welcome to come to church and enjoy a watch party with our church family! The church doors will open at 10:30 am and the ceremony will begin at 11 am.

On Sunday, we celebrate Pentecost and the arrival of the Holy Spirit! Wear red and be prepared for a wonderful morning of worship that includes the choir at the 10:45 service. At all three services we will celebrate Grace's ordination! There will be a reception after each service for you to greet and congratulate Grace. I would invite you to bring cards to mark the occasion. 

Next Monday, Laura Reiman is hosting the Mom's Group which begins at 6 pm. See Laura in the Celebration Room for more information. 

Summer schedules are upon us! Will you please click this link to sign up to be a greeter during the June & July service you normally attend? 

As you know, we have one more session hosting MAP (Mobile Access Partnership) on Tuesday, June 17. This is the link to sign up to help on that last day.

Additionally, DeAnna is looking for volunteers to for 45 minutes each Sunday during the 10:45 am service (1-2 each Sunday). The volutneers don't teach...they help walk the kids to the Chapel and sit with them during Chapel Kids time. Please email De at info@fumctopeka.org to let her know you can help.
