Pastor E-NoteEaster Egg Hunt, Palm Sunday, & Ministry News Greetings Topeka First UMC, I hope that you're having a great week! We have a huge weekend coming up! Saturday is the annual Easter Egg Hunt. This event runs from 1-2:30 pm at the state capitol grounds. Last year, there were hundreds of people, we expect there will be at least as many this year. We still have some openings for volunteers. Even if you could come and volunteer for just an hour, that would help! Please email Pastor Grace if you can help (grace@forthegoodofthecity.org). This is an excellent opportunity to bring kids, grandkids, or friends to a great event! We hope to see you Saturday! Finally! We are almost to the end of Lent! This Sunday is Palm Sunday, and the theme is "Hosanna?" The word that people cried on that day was "Hosanna." On Sunday, we will look at this word, and think about what it meant for the people watching Jesus ride into town, and for us so many years later. I hope that you will join us as we wave palm branches, celebrate Jesus the King riding into Jerusalem. Senior Adults are encouraged to meet at Perkins on Monday at 12:30 pm for lunch and fellowship. Let Tiwana know you're coming if you haven't already. Thank you to everyone who has utilized these online links to sign up to help with Sunday mornings. It is wonderful to see so many helping welcome, fellowship with others, serve communion, or read liturgy. THANK YOU! Please continue to click the links to let us know you can help or see Shawna. See you Saturday AND Sunday! Pastor Brad Please reference the complete church calendar for ongoing events. |

Youth Participate in "That Night in the Upper Room"
TFUMC Youth had the chance to participate in Scott Beck’s Upper Room Experience at youth group this week. Youth were able to learn more about the events leading up to Jesus’ death and take Holy Communion as though they were at the Last Supper. A big thanks to Scott Beck for a well-researched and well-done event that all generations could enjoy! |
Young Adults News
Our Young Adults had a great turnout for Food and Faith last Sunday at El Centenario! Almost 20 folks gathered to talk about Mary Magdalene and the Resurrection and enjoyed some good food and fellowship. Our partnership with Countryside UMC continues as we plan a gathering on Sunday, April 28th at 2:30 pm to celebrate God’s creation for Earth Day. Stay tuned for more details! Pastor Grace |
