Topeka First News, January 17, 2025Topeka First UMC: Your Bridge to God, One Another, and the Community Greetings Topeka First UMC, I hope that you are having a great week! Coming up this weekend in worship, we get to continue "Being the Bridge" together! Over the last two weeks we have looked at how our prayers and our presence both inside and outside the church are a huge part of our faith journey, and how we reach into the community. This week we turn to gifts. Using the gifts that God has given us is an essential part of our faith journey. God has created and given each of us a unique set of gifts, called spiritual gifts. No gifts are any more or less important than any other. On Sunday, we will work together and think about how we use the gifts that God has given us to "Be the Bridge." This Sunday, I am hosting "Pizza with the Pastor." If you're interested in learning more about our church, please let Shawna know you'll be attending. We'll meet in room #105 at noon. We're excited to announce that Wednesday evening activities will resume January 22! The Chapel Bells group kicks off at 5 pm (contact DeAnna Guzman if you're interested in joining), followed by dinner at 6 pm, kid, youth, and adult programs at 6:30 pm. Adults are encouraged to attend "Wednesday Night Conversations." I'm leading the group on January 22 so plan to meet me in room #105 (Bishop Frank) at 6:30 pm. Use this link to register or sign up at the Connection Desk in the Celebration Room. If you are joining us online, please join us via our website. Our website is the primary online source to view our online services (or any past service). Facebook isn't always reliable so be sure to join us through the live stream on our website. Please take time to sign up to help greet and hand out bulletins before the service you usually attend. Additionally, the 2025 Liturgist schedule is now open! Both links remain the same throughout the year. The church office is closed Monday, January 19 in observance of Martin Luther King Day. See you Sunday, Pastor Brad
