A Final Note from Pastor Karissa
Dear Topeka First UMC family, I just want to thank you so much for the beautiful and special last Sunday as your Associate Pastor! You truly made me feel loved and blessed me with your gifts, kind words, cards, music, and hugs. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything. Words cannot describe how much you all mean to me or how much I will miss you. I am incredibly grateful for the ways that you have supported, loved, and encouraged me and helped me grow over the past three years. Without you, I would not feel as confident in my gifts as a pastor or as ready for being a lead pastor as I do now. I pray for you as you continue the good work that God is calling you to. May you be filled with the Holy Spirit and guided by Christ in all that you do. I can't wait to see how God continues to work through you to bring transformation in the world. Even though I will not be your Associate Pastor anymore, that doesn't mean that we can't ever talk to each other again. If you want to stay in touch with me, my conference email address is karissa.miller@greatplainsumc.org. You can also send me a friend request on Facebook if you'd like! Several of you have asked for my new address. If you would like that, please ask the church office. I leave you with a prayer from Ephesians 3 - "For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth takes its name. I pray that, according to the riches of his glory, he may grant that you may be strengthened in your inner being with power through his Spirit and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, as you are being rooted and grounded in love. I pray that you may have the power to comprehend, with all the saints, what is the breadth and length and height and depth and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to accomplish abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen."With love, Karissa Miller Associate Pastor Topeka First UMC |
