Special General Conference Town Hall
We know that many of you connected to our congregation have questions, concerns, and thoughts surrounding the Special General Conference that was held in St. Louis last week. The conference, called to discuss human sexuality, in particular the ways in which homosexuality was addressed in our United Methodist Book of Discipline, passed the Traditional Plan last Tuesday evening leaving many people anxious while offering relief to others. In this moment, we want to be open and transparent with all of you and our community.
To that end, on Monday, March 11 our Lead Pastor Jeff Clinger will host a town hall on the General Conference at 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary. The Town Hall will give us an opportunity to discuss what happened in St. Louis and what that does and does not mean for our congregation. Childcare will be available and we will hope you will be able to join us. If you can't join us in person we will be live streaming the meeting on our website where sermons are usually streamed on Sunday mornings.
As we continue to grapple with the Special Conference and what it means to each of us we ask for you prayers, grace, and love.
