Meet Our New Director of Youth Discipleship
Jacob Martin will begin as our new Director of Youth Discipleship on June 1 and will be introduced at all 3 worship services on Sunday, June 2. All youth are welcome to meet him during the Sunday School hour in the Youth Rooms (Rooms 102/103) on the 2nd at 9:30.
Jacob comes to us from Ottawa University after completing his MBA in Leadership and Management and working in Campus Ministries as a Graduate Assistant. He has never lived in Topeka, but is familiar with the city through his family and friends. He is the son of Andy and Janelle Martin, and the oldest of his siblings Zach and Katie. He is passionate about creating community and spending time with others. One way he enjoys doing this is through networking and network planting. Jacob is a deep thinker (often overthinker) that enjoys long, meaningful discussion. He wants everyone to know he is left handed, and therefore is always in his right mind no matter how outlandish he may act or what craziness comes out of his mouth. Jacob loves the outdoors and physical activity, especially soccer. Jacob is excitedly engaged to his fiancé, Kristy Gentry, and looking forward to life with his best friend!
Jacob also wanted to share this with us: "I can't wait to continue learning and growing with the staff, the congregation, and the youth here at Topeka First. I'm eager to be a part of the disciple making culture that is apparent, and being intentional about creating ways for youth and young people to realize and share all they are and can be through Christ."
