For the Good of the City, Let's go Downtown!
Gather your family and friends and go downtown to dine, shop, and play. February 23 to March 1 is the Topeka First UMC quarterly downtown engagement week. Demonstrate our commitment to “the good of the city” by interacting with downtown businesses. Do you need to shop? Hungry for a bite to eat? Looking for a place to show off our up and coming community? Downtown is the place for you. When you head out, wear your Topeka First clothing and make sure businesses know that we are proud to have them as partners in the downtown community.
On February 24, as you leave worship, ushers will have small cards which fit into your billfold or wallet. If you can't join us in worship our Downtown Engagement Cards are available at the front desk. You might write a note of appreciation on the card and leave it where you dine or shop. And don't forget to take a selfie downtown and send it to Austin Harris too!
There are a number of new restaurants downtown. The Weatheroom opened in the Cyrus Hotel, joining newcomers to the downtown community including the Pennant and the Iron Rail. Click Here to find a list of the restaurants that dot our downtown.
Our Downtown Engagement Weeks are just one of the many ways that we seek to connect, grow, and serve for the good of the city within our Downtown Community. From partnering with local business to serving the community through community lunches, we are always looking for ways to transform Topeka. Show us how you transform you community with #forthegoodofthecity!
