Topeka First UMC: Your Bridge to God, One Another, and the Community
Greetings Topeka First UMC,
I hope that you are warm and safe this snowy week. It looks like the snow is over and now we just have to dig out!
Thank you to everyone who attended or watched through the live stream last Saturday. I was so glad that we could have an actual worship service rather than just a video. I appreciate the staff and all of you in the church for being flexible!
Coming up this Sunday, we are continuing our "Be the Bridge" sermon series. Last week we began with the foundation of our faith, which is prayer. This Sunday we move to presence. In the church we obviously believe that showing up whether in person or through the live stream is so important in terms of worship. But when we say presence, it goes far beyond just worship. On Sunday we will look at the ways in which Jesus "showed up" for those around him. Even for people that would become enemies of Jesus. I hope that you will join us as we work together through the importance of presence both inside and outside the church. We will also celebrate Holy Communion this Sunday!

As we begin 2025, please take time to sign up to help greet and hand out bulletins before the service you usually attend. Additionally, the 2025 Liturgist schedule is now open! Both links remain the same throughout the year.
The Men's Group plans to meet this Saturday, Jan. 11, at 8 am at The Pad Restaurant. There isn't a speaker or a program but instead a time of fellowship! Plan to arrive a bit early to get your breakfast ordered!
