Celebrating the Birth of Christ!
Join Us For Advent
Advent is the four week period when we, as followers of Jesus, anxiously wait for Christmas day and the celebration of Christ's birth. We have a number of exciting and meaningful events, studies, and opportunities connected to Advent this year. Find some ways that you might connect more deeply to the Church and the God that creates and loves us all this Advent!
Kick-off the holiday season with Topeka First UMC at Cocoa, Cookies, and Carols. This event, fun for the whole family, follows the Miracle on Kansas Parade on November 30. Swing into the church before heading home for warm hot chocolate, delicious homemade cookies, and a chance to sing some of our favorite holiday carols. Entry to Cocoa, Cookies, and Carols is free so come on down and get in the holiday spirit!
Join Phase 2, Topeka First UMC's Boomer ministry, on December 2 at 4:30 p.m. for Phase 2 Caroling. Groups will go to local nursing homes and spread Christmas joy through the gift of song! Following the caroling, participants are invited to head to Glory Days Pizza around 5:45 p.m. for a dinner full of conversations and fun. Register online today!
White Gift Sunday is one of many ways that we live out our vision as a congregation that connects, grows, and serves for the good of the city. The gifts given directly support the residents of the Rescue Mission, one of our Strategic Mission Partners.
Help us build upon this valued tradition by bringing gifts wrapped in white to our combined Worship Celebration on December 8. Together we can spread Christmas joy and a spirit of thanksgiving throughout Topeka.
Directly following our Worship Celebration on December 8 we will move to the Fellowship Hall for our Christmas Dinner. Join you Topeka First UMC family for turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and rolls. Lunch goers are invited to bring a side salad or dessert if they would like to.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for children aged 4-12 and free for children 3 and younger. Tickets can be purchased on Sunday mornings or online. Please reserve your spot by December 2!
The Christmas season can bring joy, but for many people, it can be a difficult time. The Stephen Ministry Program is offering an Advent Service of Comfort and Hope for those who are hurting.
